Martin Thelin
About me
Martin Thelin, an MD/PhD physician-scientist, is a pediatric endocrinologist and lipidologist based in San Francisco. He serves as Director of the Pediatric Lipid Clinic at UCSF, where his practice integrates rigorous diagnostic evaluation with expert management of metabolic disorders.
After completing his doctoral studies at Lund University and postdoctoral training at Harvard’s Joslin Diabetes Center, Martin now focuses his research on immune mechanisms within Type 1 diabetes and rare lipid disorders.

Clinical trials
Novartis (Inclisiran) Site Principal Investigator for two clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of PCSK9-targeted siRNA therapeutics in pediatric populations. These studies recruit patients with homozygous (HoFH) and heterozygous (HeFH) familial hypercholesterolemia.
Ionis (Olezarsen) Site Principal Investigator for an upcoming clinical trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of Olezarsen, an APOC3-targeted antisense oligonucleotide. This study enrolls patients with Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to assess the therapeutic reduction of severe hypertriglyceridemia.
